About House Help Crew
Hiring someone to work in your home is personal. Most families do it a handful of times, with nobody to show them how. We write the practical, plain-English guides we wish we'd had.
What we do
We publish guides to hiring and working with house cleaners, babysitters, nannies, pet sitters, dog walkers, handypeople and companions, a quick employee-or-contractor check, the Hire Right checklist and a free printable Hiring Help Checklist. We send The Crew Notes to people who sign up for it, and we're preparing the Household Hiring Kit, a paid set of hiring templates.
What we don't do
- We're not a staffing agency or marketplace, and we don't place workers or vet candidates for you.
- We don't run background checks or process payroll.
- We don't give legal or tax advice; we point you to the IRS, your state agencies and professionals.
- We don't take referral fees and never sell or share your email address.
Fair to both sides
Good hiring is good for the people you hire too: clear duties, fair pay, written agreements and respectful endings. Our guides are written with that in mind.
